Use Raised Garden Planters for Best Results~

Raised garden planters allow you to plant vegetables that will have an earlier start, longer season and better growth than on grade gardens.

Here’s one model you can use that allows maximum exposure if you have the space. If you construct one yourself, NEVER use pressure treated lumber which will leach poisonous chemicals into the garden soil.

Fill the planter above sides as it will slowly compress over the season. And make sure you site the planter where it will receive at least 5 hours of sunshine.

On sunny days, go out and scout around your yard . Here’s something to look for~The Evergreen Bagworm.

Commonly known as Bagworm, is a moth that spins its cocoon in its larval life, decorating it with bits of plant material from the trees on which it feeds.

Arborvitae and Red Cedar are the favored host trees of the Evergreen Bagworm, but Cypress, Juniper, Pine, Spruce, Apple, Birch, Black Locust, Elm, Maple, Poplar, Oak, Sycamore, Willow, and over 100 other species can also fall victim to Bagworm infestations. Leaves and buds are both fair game for food.
