Have You Got Spring Fever?

These last few sunny days are reawakening everyone’s gardening attention…BUT don’t be so fast to apply lawn fertilizers yet~
Watch for forsythia to be in bloom before you apply it or you may find the emerging lawn sprouts far outspeed your ability to use your mower!

Do you have vole trails in your lawn?

Voles (short tails shown on bottom) over the winter have slowly chewed little meandering paths in your lawn. No big problem; just hard rake and topdress with screened soil and seed AFTER site conditions dry up and allow.

Use Raised Garden Planters for Best Results~

Raised garden planters allow you to plant vegetables that will have an earlier start, longer season and better growth than on grade gardens.

Use CJ Krantz compost to fill your planter. They will deliver or you can pick up. 716 741-3850.

Here’s one model you can use that allows maximum exposure if you have the space. If you construct one yourself, NEVER use pressure treated lumber which will leach poisonous chemicals into the garden soil.
